About Double Ten Day

Taiwan’s National Day is widely known as Double Ten Day, named for its date: the tenth day of the tenth month. The holiday commemorates the Wuchang Uprising of 10 October 1911, which began the Xinhai Revolution. Official celebrations may include a flag-raising ceremony, performances and other public events; programmes vary each year.
